The Bespoke Process

From the first sketch to the final polish, each piece is shaped by hand and heart. This is what happens between the two, in order.

The first conversation

Begin by scheduling a consultation with our team, where we take the time to understand your vision and preferences in detail. Complimentary, at 139 Elizabeth Street or online.

We talk about the person it is for, what they already wear, the occasion, the metal, and the stone you have in mind or the stone you have already. Nothing is drawn in this meeting. If you are bringing an existing piece to be remade, bring it and any certificates with it.

Design and CAD

You work alongside our designers, jewellers and gemmologists. The idea is put on paper first, then developed as a three-dimensional CAD model, so that every proportion, angle and setting detail can be considered before any metal is cut.

You see the design before it is made and you change it before it is made. That is the point of this stage.

Choosing the stone

Stones are selected against the design and against each other — total carat weight and size, colour, clarity and cut. Natural diamonds are conflict-free and fully traceable. Coloured gemstones — sapphire, ruby, emerald, aquamarine, tourmaline, tanzanite and others — are selected for colour, rarity and character.

For high jewellery and for pink diamonds, stones are personally selected by Mike and Panos Levendi.

Approval

The final design, the stone specification, the metal and the price are confirmed in writing before production begins. Pricing follows stone specification, metal choice and any customisations made.

The bench

Our jewellers handcraft each piece with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring the structure and balance of the design are built to last for generations.

This is the longest stage and the quietest one. Metal is worked, not assembled.

Setting

The piece moves into the hands of our master setters, where every diamond and gemstone is carefully placed to maximise brilliance, precision, and refinement.

Polishing and finish

The final stages involve polishing and finishing, a process that brings the jewellery to life. Every surface, edge, claw, and detail is refined by hand until the piece reaches the standard we expect from the House of Levendi.

Final review

Before any creation leaves our workshop, Mike Levendi personally reviews each piece to ensure it reflects the craftsmanship, quality, and artistry the house has stood behind since 1967.

The finished piece is presented in the signature burgundy box, embossed with the Levendi name, and finished with our ribbon.

Timeline

Most jewellery pieces are crafted within one to four weeks, depending on the availability of the selected diamonds or gemstones. Made-to-order pieces should be allowed approximately four weeks for crafting and delivery. Custom sourcing or intricate designs may require additional time, which is confirmed during your consultation.
